So; I get to the shipper this morning and there is another truck there from Swift (same company I drive for). This is not really a big surprise as it is a huge truck company. So both of us are in the dock getting loaded. We both get done about the same time; me just before him. Get to the gate to get my paperwork and leave only to find out they put his load on my trailer and my load on his trailer! (banging head on steering wheel now)
We are both sent back into the yard where we are picking up. Now this is physically an easy fix; just swap trailers, no big deal right? Wrong.
With two different driver managers working on the same issue (and fouling it up), it took almost an hour to finally get it right with dispatch and have the computer show the right trailer with the right truck!
After all the "fun" I was able to get going. The rest of the day was pleasant and uneventful; thank God!
Got about 30 miles from Missouri state line and called it a day. Only a little over 3 hours drive to final in the morning. So now it's time to kick back and relax at one of Iowas fine roadside rest areas, they are actually really nice-even have free wifi!
Tomorrow morning I will run this in the rest of the way and see what I get next. Still trying to get home as I have been for almost 2 weeks now. My wife is out to her friends again; which means her disability check hit the bank. I wonder if anything will be left or if she will blow it all as usual...hmmm, gee, really hard that one. NOT!
IF you take the road less traveled you might encounter farm equipment or heavy machinery but at least it will be interesting!
I was able to convince her not to pull all the money off her card (as it would have charged her another $6 in fees. So she just went to her friends with only $200 in cash. :)) I'm certain she'll ask to go to her friends house again tomorrow, then it will all be gone. :(( Wish I could help you more in this area, but I have one child, not two. LOL No but really, she doesn't want any help. My dad has even suggested to her to have me help her (as I manage his personal business because he can't see) but she told him she didn't want anyone telling her what to do with her money. So we've just all resolved ourselves on the fact that she won't have any money for the things she really needs, but at least we know she won't be homeless or evicted, all the utilities will be on, and she will always have food.....oh, and we don't loan her any money. LOL Which is pretty sad, we loaned you money when you needed it, but won't loan her a dime without first speaking to you first. LOL
